Crossings and Roundabouts - London Performance Sat 11 Nov

Crossing and Roundabouts, a short dance piece commissioned by Brighton Dance Network and choreographed by Masha Gurina, is part of a programme of dance, song, performance and reading taking place at New Unity, London on Nov 11. The event is hosted by actress Juliet Stevenson and is aimed to support the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants and The Unity Project.

Crossings and Roundabouts was created with an inter-generational group of dancers as part of 24 Hours Choreographic Lab 2017. It is a piece on the subject of human encounters - things coming and going as people cross paths - fleeting or lasting relationships, and the shifting through life - alone, in pairs, or in groups, at various speeds and with different ideas of where one is going.

The lab was lead by choreographer and dancer Masha Gurina who took inspiration from Argentine tango to investigate a broader notion of 'connection' and multiple ways of finding it, developing it and perhaps losing it.
