Spring Term 2019 Guest Teachers:

Harry Scott (January)
In 2018, Harry founded Efferus Collective, receiving a residency at the Theatre Royal Plymouth to develop his first work Pithed, which was performed at both the Theatre Royal Plymouth and Barbican Theatre (Plymouth) respectively. He is a collaborator with Brighton based Callous Affection Dance. As a teacher Harry has led professional class, taught in schools, and most recently joined Plymouth University as associate lecturer in dance technique.

Xavier Singer-Kingsmith (April):

Xavier's class will take an improvisational route to warm up the body. The main focus of this set of classes will be to explore the foundations of contemporary technique through various exercises. He believes that although technique is universal, it is also unique and specific to different bodies. Not one size fits all type of learning. The classes will progressively become more challenging, yet beneficial to the dancer allowing them to understand how technique applies in different performative situations. There will also be an element of moving meditation in the choreography so that the dancers begin to have an awareness of where their weight is placed, mind connected and body core centered whilst shifting through space and having fun.
